Found a literal geodesic dome house for sale in Nevada and it is a wild ride inside
This is not your average cookie-cutter house. It is a massive dome in Boulder City, and the interior layout is unlike anything you have seen.
First impressions
Let us look at the outside first. It is a shingled dome sitting on a desert hill.
The driveway wraps around the side, showing off some pretty intense stone cladding.
Seriously, check out this stone facade. It covers almost the entire lower half of the wall.
Around the back, things get even more chaotic with metal stairs clinging to the siding.
What is behind the front door
The stone theme does not stop at the front door. You walk in and you are greeted by an interior stone wall.
This main level has tile floors that run through the high-traffic spots.
It turns out this place has multiple separate living quarters, including this little kitchenette setup.
Down this way, there is a carpeted bedroom space that feels a bit more private.
The rooms are massive but definitely have a retro feel to them.
Most of the bedrooms have standard sliding closet doors.
And the bathrooms on this level are basic but functional.
Complete with a classic tub unit.
The main dome space
But let us get to the actual dome part. It opens up into these angled rooms.
The doorways are cut into geometric arches that match the roofline.
Some spots are narrow, hugging the outer curve of the house.
Then it opens up into this massive central space.
It feels like a bunker from the 1980s.
My absolute favorite spot is this wooden window seat built right into the stone wall.
Look up and you will spot this hexagonal skylight letting some natural light in.
They even tucked a powder room right under the slope of the ceiling.
The actual kitchen
The main kitchen has been updated with some granite counters and newer cabinets.
It is a galley style, which keeps things simple.
Heading upstairs
If we go down the hall and head up, the carpet changes to a warm tone.
One of the upstairs rooms even has a wooden ladder leading up to a loft.
The angles up here get even crazier because of the dome shape.
It makes for some really strange closet setups.
Even the bathroom vanity has to contend with a sloped ceiling.
And this bathroom has some retro wallpaper that feels like a time capsule.
Downstairs and out back
This corner of the house has some built-in shelving carved right into the drywall.
Now let us head down the stairs to the lower level.
Down here, you find even more bedrooms and living spaces.
It is basically a maze of rooms, perfect if you have a ton of guests.
There is even a soaking tub down here for relaxing.
Finally, let us look at the yard. It is a dirt lot with a lot of space to work with.
