I found a literal castle in Brooklyn and I need to talk about it
You probably think of high-rises and brownstones when you picture Brooklyn, but Manhattan Beach has these massive houses that look like they belong in Europe. This place was built in 2024, spans about eight thousand square feet, and has a level of detail that feels completely unreal.
The curb appeal
The exterior looks like a limestone palace. The metalwork on the front gates is incredibly heavy.
It towers over the rest of the street. The stone arches and columns give it a very commanding presence.
The entry hall
The entry doors have frosted glass with iron overlays that block out the street.
Once you walk through, you are standing on marble tile with a custom layout. There is even a blue velvet couch just to sit and take off your shoes.
Looking straight ahead, the marble floor pattern guides your eye toward the back of the house.
This double staircase is incredibly dramatic. The wrought iron railing curves up to the second floor on both sides.
Right in the center sits a round table with a gold bowl under a crystal chandelier. It feels very formal.
The main living spaces
Off the foyer is the formal living room. The fireplace mantel is carved stone and looks like a classic French import.
The curved sofa fits the wall perfectly. Gold curtains frame the arched windows.
The ceiling plasterwork holding up the crystal chandelier is incredibly detailed.
Casual lounges and dining
If you want to relax, there is a family room with a massive sectional and orange curtains.
This sunroom has checkered marble floors and orange wicker chairs. The natural light in here is fantastic.
The layout flows from the sunroom straight into the dining area.
The dining room has a table that easily seats ten people under another crystal chandelier.
A serious kitchen
This kitchen island is huge. The white marble slab on top is incredibly thick.
Cabinets contrast with the light marble. It has a very solid, traditional feel.
The backsplash behind the range is one solid piece of marble, which means you do not have to clean grout lines.
All the Miele appliances are built directly into the wood paneling on the back wall.
Up the grand stairs
As you climb the stairs, you pass this stained glass window that lets in soft light.
Looking down from the upper landing gives you a great view of the crystal chandelier.
The upper landing is big enough to have its own lounge area with a blue velvet sofa.
The primary suite
The main bedroom is huge. Classic wallpaper covers the walls, and the tufted headboard matches the theme.
The dresser matches the trim work found throughout the house.
The primary bathroom has a slipper tub that stands out against the checkered marble floor.
There are vanities on each side of the room, so you do not have to share sink space.
The shower and toilet are tucked behind glass doors.
This shower has body sprays built into the wall for a full spa experience.
The walk-in closet has plenty of hanging space and custom drawers.
Guest rooms and office
The guest bedrooms keep the same classic style but have unique details like this cowhide armchair.
This home office has pink velvet chairs that add a fun pop of color to the desk.
The tapestry on the wall behind the desk gives the office a very scholarly vibe.
Guest bathrooms
This powder room vanity is covered in gold leaf detail.
They even installed a toilet with a gold pipe.
