They Built A House Smaller Than Your Car And It Has Everything

Welcome to the Thistle, a charming ultra-tiny house with a gable roof and cedar shake siding. This super-compact 16-foot trailer is designed with a cozy farmhouse-style interior that offers all the essentials. Built by Summit Tiny Homes in Vernon, BC, this tiny house is a stunning example of efficient design.

As you step inside, you’ll notice a long, comfy sofa bench with storage underneath—an essential feature for maximizing space in a tiny home.

Directly across from the sofa is a wall-mounted electric fireplace, beautifully framed in wood to match the trim of the windows and doors. This creates a warm and inviting atmosphere.

The Thistle offers two floor plans; this one features a staircase instead of a ladder. The staircase is cleverly designed with storage compartments, including a small bar fridge and microwave tucked away inside.

Each step of the staircase doubles as storage, providing great compartments for shoes and seasonal gear.

Next, we arrive at the galley kitchen, which boasts beautiful exposed beams and ample headroom. The kitchen is equipped with a sink and plenty of storage beneath, alongside a couple of shelves for extra knickknacks.

This large counter space is a game changer, ideal for food preparation and possibly even accommodating a cooktop.

Below the counter lies another fantastic feature—a combo washer dryer. This addition is perfect for tiny living, allowing you to do laundry without sacrificing space.

Moving towards the other end of the tiny house, we find the bathroom, which features a stylish sliding barn door.

The bathroom includes a surprisingly spacious shower and built-in shelves for toiletries, making it both functional and stylish.

Up in the loft, the dormers provide ample ceiling height, allowing you to sit up comfortably in bed.

The gable roof and dormer create a dynamic roofline, adding to the visual interest of the space, while sturdy railings ensure safety.

After exploring larger tiny houses over the years, it’s refreshing to see one that stays true to the original tiny house concept—cozy, minimalist, and functional.
