This lavender compound in Yucca Valley is a pastel desert dream

If you’re tired of looking at the same beige and white desert houses, this place will wake you right up. Known as Lavender Ranch, it’s a collection of four brightly painted structures sitting on nearly two acres of wild land.

First impressions from above

You can see how the structures are spread out to give everyone their own space. It feels like your own private mini-village.

The lavender main house

The main building is painted a soft purple color that looks incredible against the gravel and Joshua trees. There’s even a bright yellow picnic table sitting out front.

They planted neat rows of small cacti along the side of the house to match the desert vibe.

Inside the main house

When you walk through the door, you’re met with bright blue walls and a mix of colorful furniture. The cork floors keep things feeling warm and grounded.

There’s a great dining corner with built-in bench seating and a purple table. It’s the perfect spot to hang out while someone is cooking.

Even the lighting is fun, like these orange butterfly-shaped sconces on the wall.

About that kitchen

The kitchen is wild in the best way. You get lime green cabinets paired with a blue and green checkerboard floor.

They kept the appliances sleek and modern, including a white cylindrical range hood over the stove.

Cozy corners and fireplace vibes

Tucked in the corner is a retro white Malm gas fireplace. It’s set up with a telescope so you can stare at the night sky.

There’s also a cozy lounge area with a deep blue sectional and built-in wooden storage.

The primary bedroom and bath

The bedroom in the main house goes for a minty green color scheme. The window curtains add a heavy dose of color blocking.

The wavy details on the custom wooden nightstands show how much fun the designer had with this place.

Windows frame the Joshua trees outside, making the room feel connected to the landscape.

The bathroom continues the bold color choices with a deep teal vanity and some quirky praying mantis wall art.

And check out this shower. The blue and green tiles look like a retro video game grid.

The pink guest house

Just across the gravel is the newly built bunkhouse. It’s painted a bold coral pink and serves as a completely independent guest suite.

It has its own covered porch where you can sit in bright red metal chairs and watch the sunset.

Inside, the bedroom features a custom red headboard that looks like a liquid splash.

There’s also a handy little kitchenette with clean white cabinets and pops of red.

The guest shower is tiled in warm orange and red, keeping up the fiery color scheme.

Two more detached studios

Next to the bunkhouse sit two more small structures. One is lime green and the other is a soft sky blue.

The lime green building opens up to reveal a workspace that is wrapped in a cloud mural.

It’s currently set up as a home office with a long blue desk running along the window.

The blue studio stands on its own closer to the edge of the property.

Inside, it’s a clean, bright space that works perfectly for yoga, meditation, or art.

The backyard setup

When you’re ready to relax outside, there’s a custom wooden deck built right into the gravel. It holds a cowboy tub and a modern hot tub side-by-side.
