This old house on the water is basically my dream setup
I found this historic property in Connecticut, and we have to talk about it. Let’s start with the main house because the curb appeal is wild.
First impressions
It has a huge, stately presence with a yellow door that stands out against the white siding.

Up close, the entry porch has thick columns and a heavy door that shows real craftsmanship.
The front entryway
Once you walk in, there is a small vestibule with patterned wallpaper and a solid door.
A hallway with its own fireplace
Then you walk into the main hall, which is painted a warm peach. It literally has its own fireplace, which is a hilarious flex.
The cozy living room
Off the hall, the main living space is incredibly bright. The fireplace here is flanked by two chairs, making it a space where you would actually want to hang out.

But wait, there is another historic building on the property that looks like a classic colonial with black shutters.

Even the utility shed is cute, complete with flower boxes under the windows and a skylight.

Around the back, you can see a three-car garage integrated into the lower level of the house.

Look at the size of this lawn. That giant tree is probably older than the country.

The grass just keeps going, rolling down toward the woods.

Tucked away is this stone pool with a couple of lounge chairs.

As you head down the driveway, the trees open up to show off the river view.

You get a front-row seat to the sunset, right next to this red boathouse.
