This Texas desert home has an actual Boeing 727 parked inside
Imagine driving out into the middle of the West Texas desert, completely off the grid, and finding a modern house that is holding a massive secret.
Getting there
Your journey starts by heading down a dusty road just outside of Terlingua, marked by stone pillars.

A simple sign lets you know you’ve arrived at “Infinite Skies Retreat,” which sits on a massive 80-acre lot.

From a distance, the home looks like a tall, modern metal building perched right on the edge of a ridge.

It really sits all by itself out here, surrounded by nothing but mountains and desert sky.

The craziest living room you will ever see
Walk up the illuminated path at night, and you will get your first hint of what is waiting inside.

Once you open the front door, you are standing face-to-face with the nose of a real Boeing 727.

Flip on the custom lights, and the whole hangar space glows in vibrant purples and blues.

Underneath the plane, they’ve set up a cute little snack bar and kitchenette decorated with vintage airline logos.

There is even a couple of cozy lounge chairs right by the doorway where you can sit and process what you are looking at.

Exploring inside the fuselage
You can take a set of stairs straight up into the plane itself, which has been converted into the ultimate hangout.

They kept real blue airline seats so you can feel like you are in first class without any of the flight delays.

But the absolute best part has to be the cockpit, which is fully intact with all the original dials, switches, and pilot seats.

Further back in the fuselage, they managed to fit a cozy bedroom lined with glowing LED lights.

Opposite the bed, there is a small media area with a flat-screen TV and more airplane seating.

The main house
When you need a break from aviation, the rest of the 3,040-square-foot home is actually a beautiful, modern cabin.

The kitchen is fully equipped with sleek grey cabinets, stainless appliances, and a huge wood-topped island.

There is a dedicated coffee station tucked into the corner with a cool stacked-stone backsplash.

Bedrooms and bathrooms
Down the hall, the primary bedroom is bright and airy with a big window looking out at the landscape.

There is also a fun bunk room that easily sleeps three more guests.

The bathrooms are clean and straightforward, featuring glass-door showers and built-in laundry units.

Stepping outside
Upstairs, a deep covered deck with rocking chairs gives you a perfect view of the West Texas mountains.

Down below, you can sit at the picnic table and watch the sun go down over the valley.

There is also a fire pit area ringed with stones, perfect for stargazing in some of the darkest skies in the country.

Because you own 80 acres, there are even private hiking trails, complete with little bridges, built right into your land.

You can sit on a bench at the high point of the property and just take in the incredible vastness of the desert.
