Angelina Jolie accepts $5.1million price cut to sell historic Los Feliz estate for $24.75million – less than the $25million she paid for Cecil B. DeMille’s old house

Angelina Jolie just sold Cecil B. DeMille's old Los Feliz estate for $24.75 million, after listing it at $29.85 million. She paid $25 million for it, so she walked away with a little less than she spent. Here's what the buyer got.

Up on the hill

Built in 1913. The address is De Mille Drive, in case you forgot whose house this was first.

It's in Laughlin Park, a gated pocket of Los Feliz. You're not strolling past this on your evening walk.

2.1 acres. In LA that's basically a small country.

It sits up on a knoll, so the whole basin is your view.

Inside the front door

Curved staircase, and a vase of flowers roughly the size of a toddler.

Twin couches, twin palms, marble fireplace. I'd be scared to sit down in here.

There's a chalkboard wall, which is the first sign anyone actually lived here.

DeMille's library

Cecil B. DeMille worked in this room. If I had to write anything ever again, I'd want to do it here.

Yes, a rolling ladder. I'd ride it daily for no reason.

Mahogany on every wall. Dinner in here is a formal occasion whether you like it or not.

The garden side

My favourite room. The glass slides away and the family room just keeps going onto the terrace. I'm into the yellow couch too, even if it's a bit loud.

A tea house with its own fireplace. Down the garden. Because the main house wasn't enough.

Pool, gym and a fountain

Those jets arc right across the pool. Totally pointless, and I love it.

Gym's in the cabana, maybe eight steps from the water. No excuses left.

Kitchen and upstairs

Vintage-look commercial stove and a butcher block. Plainer than I expected for $25 million, which I kind of like.

Five arched windows and nothing but trees outside. I'd eat every meal here and never touch the mahogany room.

Six bedrooms, ten full bathrooms. Somebody explain that maths.

One last look

One comment under the video just says "Where is Brad ?" Fair question. The house isn't telling.

11,000 square feet, a tea house and DeMille's own library, and it still went for $5.1 million under asking. Somebody got a very good week.
