Found a massive 1900 Victorian in Georgia for under $100k and the woodwork is unreal

Alright, look at this. For ninety-nine grand, you usually get a half-gutted trailer or a damp basement condo. Instead, down in Dawson, Georgia, you can buy this massive Queen Anne. It has over four thousand square feet of pure historic character.

The history

This place was built right around 1900, back when builders actually cared about joinery and scale. Here is an old photo of the family who used to live here, standing on the same lawn over a century ago.

The porch

Let us look at the porch first because it is absolutely huge. It wraps around the side of the house and has these classical columns.

You can see the scale of the side yard from here. It is about half an acre of land, which gives you plenty of space to breathe.

The beadboard ceiling on this deck is incredible. There is even a porch swing set up, though the floorboards definitely need some paint.

You will notice some water stains and loose wood here and there. It is a real fixer-upper, so you have to be ready to do some actual structural work.

The kitchen is tucked away in the back. It has green cabinets with beadboard doors and simple tile countertops.

There is a wooden island in the middle that serves as a prep station. The giant window lets you look out over the yard while you wash dishes.

The plaster walls have a lot of texture, giving it a rustic look. You will probably want to update the appliances, but the bones are solid.

The landing

Heading upstairs, you find a wide landing that works as a second living area. That glass door leads straight out to the balcony.

There is another fireplace up here with a simpler wooden mantel. The paneling along the lower half of the walls matches the staircase.

The bathrooms

The main bathroom has a classic clawfoot tub and pink plaster walls. The subway tile wainscoting runs halfway up the wall.

The second bathroom has vertical striped wallpaper and a wood vanity. There is also an unfinished bathroom upstairs that you could complete.

The fixer reality

Let us be real for a second. This house is being sold as-is for a reason. You will need cash or a renovation loan because FHA is not happening.
