Matthew Perry’s final Pacific Palisades home sells for $4.1million – nearly $900,000 below the $4.99million the late Friends star paid in 2023

Matthew Perry bought this single-story house on a Pacific Palisades bluff in 2023 for $4.99 million. It's just sold for $4.1 million, nearly $900,000 less. The listing video walks through all of it.

On the bluff

18038 Blue Sail Drive, in Pacific View Estates. One story, dark metal roof, and nothing between it and the ocean but lawn.

The way in

Open the front door and you're already looking at the Pacific. Straight through the house, no turns.

Huge wooden door. It pivots.

One big room

Dining, living and kitchen all share one space. That glowing strip at the back is wine.

Loungers pointed at Catalina Island. Someone knew what they were doing.

Kitchen and the wine wall

Dining table's built into the island, and it's concrete. I like it more than I expected to.

Miele appliances on one side, a backlit wall of bottles floor to ceiling on the other. About the only spot where the house shows off.

Between the kitchen and the view there's a wall of living succulents. I'd kill them in a week.

Bedrooms

There are two primary suites. This one opens straight onto a covered terrace.

Out on the lawn past one of the bedrooms, a massive gnarled tree root. As art. Remember it, because it comes back.

The root bed

Told you. That's a raw tree root behind the primary bed, and it covers almost the entire wall. Whoever did this house really likes roots.

Pergola louvers are motorized, so you can fix the shade without leaving the couch.

Charcoal tile, floating double vanity, a tub on its own. Calm in a way the headboard isn't.

Outside, day and night

Every glass door on the back slides into the walls and vanishes. With them all open the house is basically a roof on a lawn.

Perry paid $4.99 million in 2023. Whoever bought it got the same sunset, the wine wall and the root bed for $4.1 million, and I'd keep all of it except the headboard.
