This Idaho house has some of the wildest lake views I have seen in a while

I was scrolling through listings in Coeur d’Alene and found this place clinging to the side of a massive hill. It looks like a normal house from the driveway, but the back tells a completely different story.

Pulling up to the place

The driveway winds up the hillside to a fairly simple front yard.

You can tell right away that the house is built directly into a steep slope.

From here, you start to see how the decks wrap around the side to catch the scenery.

If you look at the property from above, you realize just how private the lot is, surrounded by thick woods.

Walking through the front door

The entry is pretty straightforward with a wood door and a closet for coats.

The main living space

Once you walk past the entry, you hit the living room with a fireplace that has a red accent wall above it.

Turn around and the space opens up to a massive window that looks right out over the water.

The kitchen and dining setup

The dining area sits right next to another set of windows, so you get a view with every meal.

The kitchen itself has plenty of wood cabinets and a tile backsplash.

There is also a handy island in the center, making the layout feel very practical.

Downstairs and the surprises

Down on the lower level, there is a giant room with wood flooring that could work as a second living space.

The house also has a bedroom downstairs with its own fireplace.

But the coolest part has to be the cedar sauna tucked away near the utility room.

Heading out to the decks

The main deck has a wood railing and looks straight down at the water.

When you look at the back of the house, you can see how the multi-level decks cling to the structure.

The bigger picture

From the air, you can really appreciate how the home sits on the steep terrain.

The surrounding area is incredibly green, with trees stretching down to the water.

To give you an idea of where this actually is, the arrow shows the home relative to the river bend.

It is hard to beat a location with views of the water winding through the hills like this.
