Selena Gomez sells Tom Petty’s former Encino mansion for $5.4million after moving into $35million marital home with Benny Blanco – and the bathtub stares straight into a cliff

Tom Petty built this Encino house in 1989 after a fire took his old one. Selena Gomez has just sold it for $5.399 million, now that she and Benny Blanco have moved into a $35 million place. For 11,500 square feet in LA, that almost sounds cheap.

First look

Nearly an acre, and you can barely find the roof for the trees.

Built in 1989 after Petty's previous house burned down. One commenter says they project-managed the build, hung out with Tom, Jane and their girls, and that the Traveling Wilburys dropped by. Best comment on the whole video.

Out front

Privacy was the whole point. Drive past and you'd never guess.

A porch swing. Someone's grandma approves.

The big rooms

The ceilings are what the comments kept bringing up. Fair enough.

There's a bridge across the living room. Upstairs to upstairs, right over the fireplace.

A Viking range tucked into its own brick hearth. Cute, but I bet it gets hot in there.

Somebody in the comments caught a tap left running at 1:56 of the video. Tough crowd.

Another brick fireplace. I've stopped counting.

Music room and friends

Tom Petty built a house, so obviously there's a music room. It's the brightest room in the place and I'd sit in here all day despite playing nothing.

Somewhere near this bar there's a sunken round conversation pit with red velvet chairs, and it didn't make the photos. Tragic.

Greenhouse dining. Lovely in April, a sauna in August.

Upstairs, under the beams

Staircase number two. This house really likes curves.

Out back

The hillside behind the house is basically a grotto now.

Top comment I didn't expect: "Casket not included." No idea. Still laughed.

Selena's off to a $35 million place with Benny Blanco now. I'd have at least tried to take the bathtub.
