This massive house in the Iowa woods has some of the wildest features I’ve ever seen
You wouldn’t expect to find a massive French Country estate hidden away in Elkhart, Iowa. But here it is, sitting on over 22 acres of thick forest behind a security gate.

Getting there
You drive down a long driveway that winds through the trees before it opens up to this huge stone house. There is a whole water feature built right into the middle of the circle drive.

It looks like a castle dropped right into the Midwest.

Here is a view from above so you can see just how buried in the woods this place actually is. It feels totally disconnected from the rest of the world.

First impressions
The front door is a massive arch that is dark and sets the tone immediately. You walk in and find yourself on some really cool pattern tile flooring.

Just off the entry is the main living room, which has ceilings that are crazy high and a massive window shaped like an arch looking out at the trees.

Looking down from the second floor really shows off the scale of this room. The tiled floors run throughout almost the entire house because there is basically no carpet here.

Right nearby is the formal dining area. It is simple but has some cool lighting hanging over a massive table.

The kitchen setup
This kitchen is basically designed for someone who hosts massive parties. It has multiple islands and tons of counter space.

There are actually three dishwashers and three sinks in here, which sounds excessive until you realize how many people could hang out in this space.

The dark cabinets go all the way to the ceiling, and they even built glass display cases along the top.

They also set up a wet bar area right off the kitchen with its own wine fridge and some patterned tile on the walls.

Cozy corners
If the main living room is too formal, there is a smaller hearth room with a fireplace and large windows. It looks like a great spot to read a book.

Then you have the home office, which is wrapped in warm wood paneling. It even has its own fireplace.

The primary suite
The main bedroom is huge and features a concrete fireplace.

They literally built a private coffee spot right into the bedroom wall so you do not even have to go downstairs for your morning brew.

The primary bathroom has a long double vanity with dark wood cabinets and some cool mosaic tile work.

But the absolute star of the bathroom is this custom tub made of copper sitting in its own windowed alcove. I have never seen anything quite like this.

More bedrooms
Upstairs has some really interesting bedrooms with pitched ceilings that make the spaces feel unique.

Some of the bedrooms even have built-in desks and custom storage units.

Entertainment zones
Downstairs is where things get really fun. First, there is a dedicated theater room with tiered seating and a long bar in the back for snacks.

Then there is a massive game room with a pool table and plenty of space for hanging out.

But the real surprise is the indoor pool room. It has a slide, a waterfall, and a ceiling painted to look like a blue sky.

Even the laundry rooms are interesting. This one features a wild print that looks like a dalmatian on the cabinets.

Outside the house
If the indoor pool is not enough, there is a massive dome building that is white hidden in the trees that houses a full-sized tennis court that is heated. You could also easily store a massive car collection in here.

The backyard has another swimming pool, a hot tub, and plenty of patio space.

There is even a creek running through the property, making the whole 22 acres feel like your own private park.
