Usher’s house in Atlanta has a wall papered in actual dollar bills
Usher shares this ivy-covered white brick house in Atlanta with his wife, Jennifer Raymond, and their children, and he designed the interiors with Nicole Fuller. Out front there's a life-size astronaut. Inside you'll find a mirrored two-story atrium, his grandmother's piano under a glowing cross, and a wall covered in real dollar bills.
Out front
The front of the house at dusk, with ivy climbing the white brick and a portico over the door.

On the front lawn stands a life-size astronaut sculpture, lit from below at night.

Every seam and hose of the spacesuit is sculpted. I love that he put it right out front instead of hiding it in the back.

A classical figure of a woman stands a few feet away, so old and new share the same lawn.

The hallway and kitchen
Inside, the hallway has black-and-white checkerboard floors and dark charcoal paneling.

Off the hall there's a security desk with two monitors watching the grounds and corridors.

Nicole Fuller worked on the interiors with Usher. In the kitchen, the fridge hides behind cabinet panels.

A heavy-duty range sits under a steel hood, with a stone slab backsplash and brass shelves.

Pinkish-brown veined marble for the island, and a little bonsai living on top of it.

A second prep counter has a copper sink and glass-front cabinets lit pink from inside.

The dining study and music room
A round table sits under a stacked neon cube chandelier, with bookshelves all around.

French doors open from the dining study straight onto a patio.

Out back, a daybed swing hangs from thick ropes on the covered veranda.

In the music room, a black Yamaha grand sits by a big gridded window over the garden. Usher talks about how melodies drift from room to room in this house.

Across from the piano, a big red abstract painting hangs on wood paneling.

A marble fireplace with a laser-cut leaf screen, next to a curved velvet armchair.

His grandmother's piano and the mirrored atrium
Usher's grandmother owned this upright piano, and he says he thinks of her whenever he plays it.

Her portrait hangs in a gilded frame right beside it.

Usher says a piano never forgets, that it holds the voices of the generations who played it before.

Above the piano, a cross-shaped screen shows purple and pink flowers blooming. It's the detail I kept coming back to.

A long carved antique refectory table fills the gallery hall, with a fire going at the far end.

Stacked vintage TVs in wood and cream cases sit next to a Virgil Abloh book.

Two stories tall and lined with mirrors, the atrium makes the glowing icosahedron sculpture in the middle repeat forever.

The pool
A graffiti-style mural covers the brick wall beside the pool and the striped daybeds.

At the other end of the bluestone deck, a white brick pool house with a cupola.

The lounge, bars and screening room
In the lounge, a neon 'WONDERFUL' sign glows against dark floral wallpaper.

Screening room: a lit grid ceiling, low velvet seating and an enormous horse artwork. My favorite room in the house.

A vintage wood console opens up to a record player.

Nicole Fuller put deep navy velvet in the den, alongside modern paintings and full bookshelves.

A second bar has dark fluted wood cabinets, marble counters and a wine fridge.

The garden and glass dining room
Sculptures are scattered through the garden, including this smiling stone face on a concrete plinth.

From across the pool at night, you can see straight into the glass-walled dining room.

Inside, the table is set with candles, ceramic urns and flowers, under a large tapestry.

Somewhere on the property there's also a concrete slab stamped 'DADDY'S HOME', with Sire and Sové's handprints and pawprints from Scarlett, the family dog. Between that and grandma's piano, which would you keep if you moved?
