I found a house in South Carolina with its own full-sized bowling alley and a two-story library

If you have an extra thirteen million dollars burning a hole in your pocket, I found the wildest playground on Hilton Head Island. It has over eighteen thousand square feet of pure maximalism, and the interior choices are wonderfully chaotic.

The approach

First off, the driveway is basically a courtyard paved with cobblestones, complete with a massive fountain.

At dusk, the whole front facade lights up like some kind of European manor.

You walk up these wide marble stairs just to get to the massive double doors.

The entryway

Once those doors swing open, you are staring down a hallway that looks like it belongs in a museum.

The floor has this incredibly detailed mosaic right in the center of the foyer.

The main living spaces

The main living room has a stone fireplace that goes all the way up to a heavy, coffered ceiling.

The scale of this place is hard to wrap your head around, with columns separating the different seating areas.

Even the secondary hallways feel like galleries, lined with French doors pointing toward the water.

The kitchen situation

The kitchen is dominated by this gigantic iron rack hanging over the island loaded with copper pots.

They went with a checkered tile backsplash behind the massive range.

And check out this built-in breakfast booth—it is wrapped in patterned fabric with a custom tiled table.

If you want to get formal, the dining room features a massive table under crystal chandeliers, with a painted mural on the back wall.

Let’s look at the bedrooms

This bedroom goes heavy on the bamboo theme, matching the headboard with the side tables.

One of the fifteen bathrooms features green cabinets and a stone-tiled shower.

Another bathroom goes bold with purple walls, an ornate mirror, and a wood-wrapped tub.

The primary suite is massive, with wood beams overhead and glass doors opening right onto a balcony.

The primary closet is basically a high-end boutique, complete with custom cabinets and a central seating island.

The ridiculous features

This is where things get truly wild. There is a two-story wood library with a spiral staircase and wrapping balconies.

It looks like a private club, complete with cozy reading nooks lined with leather-bound books.

Then there’s the indoor pool room, featuring a painted ceiling medallion showing a compass rose.

If you need a drink, the house has a full-scale pub with a massive wooden bar, a red British telephone booth, and draft taps.

Oh, and did I mention the two-lane bowling alley? It has neon lights, patterned carpet, and a wall lined with classic theater posters.

There is also a private gym with brick walls and enough weight equipment to rival a commercial fitness center.

For the kids, they created this unbelievable bedroom packed with giant stuffed animals, including a giant giraffe and tiger.

The backyard situation

The backyard features a massive pool with a built-in hot tub and a covered outdoor kitchen pavilion.
