This 15,000 square foot stone castle is delightfully weird

Imagine buying a stone castle once owned by a turn-of-the-century tycoon for under two million dollars. It has 14 bedrooms, 14 fireplaces, and some of the wildest architectural details you will ever find in a private residence.

The approach

You pull up to these massive stone pillars guarded by actual lions.

The lion motif starts right at the gate and basically never stops throughout the property.

Then you see the actual house, which looks like a gilded age fortress.

There is a stone path cutting through the front yard towards the main structure.

A stone fountain sits in the middle of the driveway courtyard.

Even the weather vane on top of the turret is a bronze lion.

The scale of the stone facade becomes obvious when you stand right in front of it.

The stonework is incredible, and there is a wrap-around porch.

You walk inside and immediately hit a foyer with terrazzo floors.

Then you spot details like this glass door featuring gold cherubs.

The floors are this speckled stone mosaic that runs through the main corridors.

The main staircase has heavy wood paneling imported from an old English church.

The kitchen is absolutely massive, though it feels a bit like a school cafeteria.
