This $18M Scottsdale house has an underground basketball court and a literal sneaker museum

I was just browsing Scottsdale listings and found a place that is way more ridiculous than it has any right to be. It is basically a private sports resort disguised as a house.

Driving up

You pull up to this massive gated entrance in North Scottsdale and realize immediately you are not visiting a normal neighborhood. It feels like arriving at a high-end desert resort.

Once the gates open, you follow a long cobblestone driveway up toward the front of the main house.

The driveway leads to a giant circular courtyard centered around a fountain, framed by stone walls and desert trees.

First impressions

Walking inside, the sheer scale of the entryway hits you. Heavy wood beams run across the high ceiling, and the stone tile floor stretches out in every direction.

Just off the entryway is this curved staircase wrapped in exposed brick. It looks like it was plucked straight out of a historic warehouse.

High ceilings and massive rooms

The formal living room is huge, featuring towering walls and massive pocket doors that slide open to let the desert air in.

The fireplace setup is incredibly wide, flanked by dark display cases that give the room a serious presence.

Further in, the family room feels a bit more casual but is still massive. The wood-paneled ceiling adds a lot of warmth to the space.

When you slide the glass doors away, the room opens directly to the poolside bar. It makes the transition to the outside feel completely natural.

About that kitchen

The kitchen has a massive double island setup. There is enough barstool seating here to feed a whole basketball team.

The cooking side features a long run of counter space and a huge stainless steel hood that dominates the wall.

Behind the main kitchen is this butler pantry with brick walls and warm pendant lights. It is basically a second kitchen for prep work.

There is also a formal dining room nearby for when you want to host dinner parties away from the kitchen chaos.

The upper level

Head upstairs and you find another lounge area equipped with a full wet bar and plenty of comfortable seating.

You also get a massive walk-in closet with custom light-wood built-ins and central dresser islands.

The other bedrooms are just as comfortable, each feeling like its own private hotel suite.

The subterranean sports complex

This is where things get completely wild. You walk down these stairs and enter an underground playground.

Burying a full, regulation-size basketball court fifteen feet below the ground is a level of flex I did not know existed.

It has custom lighting, professional scoreboards, and looking down from the loft makes it feel like an actual arena.

Next to the court is a multi-car garage with hydraulic lifts and a two-lane bowling alley.

There is also a fully equipped gym overlooking the main garage space so you can lift while admiring your cars.

The loft viewing deck above the court has cozy leather seats for spectators.

You can open up these glass garage doors to connect the viewing lounge directly to the court.

There is even a full bar down here so nobody has to go upstairs for drinks during a game.

If you prefer golf over basketball, they built an indoor simulator room with theater seating.

And yes, there is a dedicated space called the Jordan Room designed to hold hundreds of pairs of sneakers.

For the wine lovers, they tucked a cozy tasting cellar behind glass doors.

Back upstairs, you can step out onto a private balcony to check out the cold plunge pool and fireplace.
